The Amazon Associates program is an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. When you click an affiliate link here and complete a qualifying purchase, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be otherwise.
How to spot an affiliate link
Affiliate links on this site point to Amazon and are marked as sponsored — the "Recommended reading" book sections on some of our guides are the main example. Those links carry our Amazon tracking tag so the referral is attributed to us. Ordinary internal links to our own calculators and guides, and links to official sources, are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.
Why it doesn't bias what we recommend
We only point to books and resources we genuinely think help with the topic on the page — mortgage basics, home buying, refinancing. We don't choose recommendations based on which one pays a higher commission, and every one of our pages is written to be fully useful whether or not you ever click an affiliate link. If a resource isn't worth your time, it doesn't go on the site, commission or not.
